I had the same issue and just installed the SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam plugin for WordPress a few days ago. No spam's come through yet. Requiring a CAPTCHA to post a comment definitely helped in my case.

What you need to do is to install anti spam plugins. The two I use are GASP and akismet. GASP stops spam from bots and akismet stops most human spam.
