Selling Direct ad space on your site is a great idea. You can also use PPC and Pay per sale programs like cj, shareasale, peerfly etc. I suggest you avoid Adsense, you will not get approved by them...

You can start with adsense to know the ground reality. Once you know your numbers that is ad impressions, CTR, CPM, CPC, EPM etc than you have lot more choices to expand on...

Let me just comment on the headline...in my humble opinion, need something more direct...I found it hard to get the key benefit right off...your subheadling should be your pre headline then shorten...
