Yeah, they aren't gonna penalize you simply for having coupons on your site. If your site is ridden with paid/unnatural links, crappy content, and little contextual value, you likely won't rank.

Well, I guess Google will not punish coupon sites links just because they are from coupon sites.

It depends on the links and on the site itself. In other words, the quality and quantity of links...
