I myself have never really ever paid for any software updates it is extremely rare. As for my opinions, I would say if your updates are really that beneficial to your customers then go ahead.

Updates and Bug Fixes should be Free.

Feature updates can require a upgrade price.

Depends on the program and what the updates are honestly.

Lots of B2B programs in the real world charge for updates or charge monthly license fees with free updates. Some even charge mouthly...

It depends.

Are you adding TONS of functionality to it? If so- I think its okay to charge for it.

Are you just fixing bugs or adding some "nice to haves"? If so, do it for free.

Don't think so, you will start getting hate mail but if you create version 2.0 you will still get hate mail but little less.
Joke aside, don't think your customers would like the idea of charging...
