Tried to Clone basic Wordpress Settings..

I tried to move my custom made thesis theme to another server and url today, and need some assistance if anyone can offer any.

Basically all of the links work, but the plugins are not working. I moved all of those over as well.

My Wp-DBmanager , Wp-database-backup, validation, etc all seem to be linking the page to the old domain. (I am getting the error message To correct this issue, move the .htaccess file from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager to /home6/slatonca/public_html/gjku/wp-content/backup-db)

I know how to deal with this if it were from the same domain, but not with a new one.

Anyone know of what could be up?

  • /home6/slatonca/public_html/gjku

    is that the right directory to your new install? you might have some db entries to clean up.
  • who are you hosted with?
  • If you didn't move your database as well you should move it to your new server/domain and make sure all the paths are correct.

    This may involve re-installing your plugins after you've moved your database.

  • Contact your new host. They will usually move your blog over for free making sure to get the database and all of your plugins.

    Also, remember to deactivate your plugins before the move.
  • Def DB issue there is an entry from old server that is still being called on
