How to design a auto answer machine ?

Hello there, I am pravind from Nepal . When I was in 6 th class i was introduced with a robot which was made by one of my teacher. It wad voice controlled and ot can play football too(not really but it hits the ball whenever ball comes to his area of attention. There was a gathering and people were excited to see robot working . When robot headed the noise it started shouting 'don't make noise . making noise is very bad habit'
when we asked what is time it said the exact time and for date too.
when someone replied I am feeling very sad please sing a song for me then it played a sad song( for happy it played happy mood song).

You can ask him his name. or any other answer.

After few year sir got a scholarship and went to germany. When I asked him how to do make this auto reply software with voice controlled he told me to learn c programming .

Now he became a big person . He gave his own thesis. Now he is out of contact .

I would like to know how to make this program which can reply with voice control or even a text controlled.

There is a site called pandorabot which have similar not for auto reply . We can modify data as name and other info of it . so that whenever we ask the question it reply from the saved data.

Does anyone have idea how to do this or programmer for it.
