Best WordPress hosting

Hey guys --

Who do you use as hosting for WordPress? I know that I want managed WordPress hosting (definitely not looking to mess with security plugins or caching) and I'm not interested in a shared hosting environment.

Everything I've read thus far seems to say that Flywheel is the best (getflywheel.com) managed WordPress host (tons of awards and people rave about them on Twitter all the time); I like their style and their features for developers are awesome, like billing transfer. Just wondered if that was everyone else's experience as well or if you can share your suggestions!

Thanks

  • For managed WordPress, probably Flywheel & WPEngine but I'm not certain of their scope of what they cover/don't cover.

In terms of the plugins, what specifically don't you want to manage? As long as you're not installing a bunch of junk and keep them updated, you should not have any problems with regular web hosting. Most problems stem from poorly coded & exploited themes/plugins.

    • Try siteground or dreamhost. You can also check bluehost but I am not impressed so far (load time is horrible even w. VPS!) and looking for another WP hosting

  • All of my websites, PHP sites and Wordpress sites, are all hosted on Namecheap.
All of my sites used to be with Hostgator but after they we're purchased by EIG, quality of support degraded and so I transferred all my sites to Namecheap.
  • I recommend take a free trial at Cloudways Platform for WordPress Hosting.

What Cloudways does is optimize and setup all the necessary software on the DigitalOcean and Amazon EC2 servers. You don't have to worry about installing Linux, MySQL, PHP, Varnish, Memcache, Apache, Nginx and other scripts on the servers.

    Prices start at $15/month.

    Features of Cloudways Platform:
    Installation
1- Selection from DigitalOcean (5 data centers) and Amazon EC2 servers (8 data centers) and Google Compute Engine (3 regions)
2- One Click Application Installs (WordPress, Magento, Drupal, Joomla, Prestashop, support for all php based applications)
3- Server scaling, based on bandwidth, hard disk space, processor and RAM.
    4- Billing on hourly basis.

    Server Features
1- 15 real time monitoring features.
    2- Vertical Server Scaling
3- Service Management (Nginx, Varnish, MySQL, Apache, Memcache...)
4- Advance Server settings (Upload size, execution limit, memory limit etc.)
    5- SSL Certificate Configuration
    6- Automatic Backups
    7- Server Addons (Email settings)
    8- Dedicated IP
    9- Unlimited Domains
    10- Unlimited Application Installations

    Application Management
    1- SFTP connection
    2- Dedicated MySQL Database

  • You should go with wpengine, mediatemple, kinsta and wosynthesis these are the best hosting companies for wordpress, also if you want to use vps you can go with linode or digital ocean.

    • These are at completely opposite ends of the spectrum. The first ones are managed WordPress services and the others are bare, non-managed servers...

  • Host gater is a best one,im using this server its also give a good service
  • I run more than 10 WordPress websites using HostGator.
  • I have several WP sites hosted on Knownhost. They offer a wide variety of plans to fit your budget. They have 3 different control panels, cPanel/WHM, Plesk or DirectAdmin to choose from, with great 24/7 support. I've been using them for about 7 years.

  • I wouldn't recommend WPEngine for many reasons:
    - really expensive (not recommended for high traffic websites unless you make a lot of money)
    - they don't allow anything beyond a basic vanilla install. many plugins conflict and/or not allowed
    - not that great of a service...so many strong competitors out there
