    Hey Rodney,

We think the following are the most helpful plugins by WordPress that you must add on your website:

    1) WordPress SEO / All in one SEO.
    2) Soliloquy.
    3) W3 Total Cache
    4) Floating Social Bar
    5) OptinMonster
    6) All In One WP Security & Firewall

With these, everything on the website like security, display, promotions, speed, lead generation will be taken care of.

        Hi!

Here is my must have top list for WP:
        1. WordPress SEO by Yoast
        2. BackupBuddy
        3. Gravity Forms
        4. Soliloquy
        5. TablePress
Clearly the importance of plugins depends on your website requirements but these are pretty general and important.

TablePress allows sorting/filtering with built-in Data Tables JavaScript Library. More features are offered as extensions.

I will suggest using Autoptimize Plugin for combining and minifying JS and CSS files and W3 Total Cache for Page & Browser Caching. You should be looking into good VPS for best server response time.

I installed Autoptimize but I had another plugin that minify JS and CSS files. I did a Test using gtmetrix and there were only one point difference. Then I realize there are minifying with Cloudfare so I disabled both of them and it was about the same. I checked out your site! Nice, is that a template or did you design it yourself?

First you thing you should know that PageSpeed Scores/Grades are completely synthetic and you should be focusing more on load time of website and overall server response time. It is a template.

I agree, using gtmatrix, my Page Speed Grade is way higher then my YSlow Grade. I installed Autoptimize but it didn't make too much of a difference. I am going to have to do some more testing. I think my cache was the problem.

Here's a little secret I learned the hard way, and you're going to get it for free.

Don't use anything else but this SEO plugin on your WordPress website.

Why? Because this plugin was written with massive and busy (multi-)sites in mind, so its 197% to 867% faster compared to other popular SEO plugins ~ you know the plugin I'm talking about. This plugin also consumes 177% to 260% fewer server resources and about 15% fewer database interactions (numbers may vary on this one depending on plugin compatibility).

And there's another thing which is guaranteed with this plugin ~ 100% fewer advertisements. And the author intends to keep it that way.

The name is The SEO Framework and trust me, its awesome.

You can get it in the WordPress repository absolutely free!

    Enjoy.

There's a lot of good plugins recommended here but the one that always slips under the radar in these threads is Query Monitor. It's absolutely essential if you're doing any kind of WordPress development (this is the Programming forum after all ). I also use it for general optimization of sites if trying to uncover any performance issues.

Less is more, install only what you need - each extra plugin adds weight to your site. Especially scripts running on the front-end, they'll tax your database and CPU usage.

Think carefully before you enable a plugin since it will also install extra rows/columns in your database, most of which are never removed - even if you uninstall/delete the plugin.

I vote for WooCommerce. A quarter of internet users remove e-commerce site when loading time takes more than 4 seconds. This plugins give businesses more chances to increase e-commerce website performance and decrease page loading time to satisfy the customers.
