Anyone experience with domain transfer to a different hosting ?

I am planning on transferring my existing domains to a different registrars/hosting.

My questions are;

Do I need to transfer all files such as .html that exist on the domain to the new registrars?

How long does it take to transfer a domain to a new registrars ?

Will the domain drop in google ranking after being transferred ?

What is the hassle or problem that might occur after moving to a new home?

Thanks. :p

    YES

How long does it take to transfer a domain to a new registrars ?

    DEPENDS HOW FAST YOU WORK

Will the domain drop in google ranking after being transferred ?

    NO

What is the hassle or problem that might occur after moving to a new home?

PHP SCRIPTS MAY BREAK IF THEY AREN'T FORWARD COMPATIBLE WITH A NEWER VERSION OF PHP. YOU MAY HAVE ISSUES WITH YOUR EMAIL WORKING CORRECTLY IF IT IS SENT BY PHP. YOU MAY HAVE ISSUES WITH YOUR DATABASE NAME AND TABLES BEING PREPENDED BY THE HOSTS SPECIAL CHARACTERS.

Contact your NEW web host. Most will move your entire site for a minimal charge. All html, all files, all emails, all databases, everything.

These days, transferring a domain name transfer is usually complete the same day. Sometimes minutes. Depends on the registrars you're using.

File Compatibility. In most cases there is no problem.

It also depends on your existing registrar.

If all your sites are just static, no database involved in the back-end, you should have no problem with the transfer.

OK - maybe I'm missing something here - but surely a registrar is not the same as a hosting provider?? Not sure why you would move your domain between registrars, but I can understand changing hosts

In which case - YES you do need to move all the files over, and I would take the opportunity to make a local backup copy of everything at the same time. And don't forget to export/import any MySQL databases also, including users/passwords/etc. Then just update the domain records with your registrar to point to the new hosting IP address.

The OP didn't say, but he may have the domain registration and hosting at
the same place, so changing both would be desirable. Or, if he's selling it to
another party, they may wish to transfer to a different registrar and/or host.

if you want to move the hosting to a different server, you need to move all the files as told above. but the "domain transfer" is often used to move domains from one registrar to another.. ( lets say from namecheap to godaddy). if that is the case, you dont have to move the files in your hosting. Just issue a domain transfer request and wait until the transfer is complete.. Takes 2-3 days max. Once the registrar transfer is complete.. Then initiate any hosting transfer. and retain the old server until you are sure the new server ( with the new IP) is serving your requests

Always backup your files before transfer from one
      hosting toanother..
And list down all your domains
I dont think your PR will drop if transfer to
      another registrar..
