Are new/modern iOS being built in Objective C or Swift?

Just learning Obj C at the moment and looking at Swift over the next few days.

So Swift is just over a year old, so when new apps are hitting the market are they being built on Swift or are people sticking with Objective C?

What does Swift offer over Obj C?

There's no concrete answer to this as it depends on the context. For instance, a large organisation may choose to stick to developing apps in Objective-C as their resources already know the language. In short, overhead is less as employees do not require any training and things are completed quicker (especially if legacy apps were written in Objective-C).

On the other hand, take an indie developer who has free reign to develop however and whatever they wish. They may opt for Swift as it's the newer language and has a range of benefits over Objective-C as touched upon in this article.
