WP Clone deleting localhost site?

Hey guys

I have a problem that I hope one of you programmers can help
me with?

The problem is with the WP Clone Pligin by WP Academy

I have used this plugin many times without a problem when
downloading a LIVE site to LOCALHOST.

I then create my new site and deploy it back to the same
domain, or to a new server

Here's what I am doing:

1. I create a NEW installation of WordPress on my localhost
using Xampp

2. I install WP Clone on the site I want to clone. Sometimes
it's an existing installation and sometimes it's also a NEW
installation of Wordpress, if it's for a new site

3. I create a 'backup' of the live site....

4. I install WP Clone on the 'localhost' site and use the
RESTORE feature

Everything works fine...I get the 'RESTORE' successful
message and I can login to the localhost version of the site.

Now...this is where the problem occurs....As soon as I
click the "verify permalinks" link as requested by the
software....I get redirected BACK to the INSTALLATION page,
instead of the login page.

It completely wipes out my loaclhost site and I have to go
through the process of re-installing the local version

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Bill

Everything works fine until the final part

It was just Yesterday that I first tried using WP-Clone Plugin.

I followed the instructions and it was easy. I did exactly the same as you and also going back to check the permalinks, and I found they were all good. I now have a perfect clone of my original site.

I notice that the plugin has not been updated for quite sometime, so it might not be supported anymore?
