Is it possible to hack WordPress

I have a membership site and am also a member of a membership website.
I wanted to know if it is possible to stay logged in "forever"
or become a administrator after my period is up?

  • You can do that easily following the above instructions but not sure if it will secured. It's a WordPress site afterall.

  • Yes hacking wordpress is quite easy then the other CMS System .... because it uses the same tables names for database it has the config file on the root and all directories are accessible ... but there are many plugins to make WordPress a lot secure
  • WordPress website can easily hack.. Various tools are available for hacking. Most of the famous plugins are vulnerable.
  • It depends & there is no generic answer to it. If you have old plugin with some venerability then it's possible.

    Everything can be hacked BUT the more you are skillful the less you can be hack...
    Put some security module in your wordpress and make sure to restrain the number of login should eliminate 99.9999999% of the danger
  • You will always have the option to restore your website backup. Get into the habit of taking backups of your website. Regarding your website members or their emails, they will be of no use to the hacker since, you have developed relationship with them not the hacker. For the hacker, they will be just another cold list.

  • WordPress is vulnerable to hackers due to some laps in the security by the users. Let me clear, there are few things like default username, poor password, old version of WP etc. are the main reasons which causes the dent in the security of WP and attracts hackers to your site.

    • That won't help. Many of the most popular plugins are vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS) due to the misuse of the add_query_arg() and remove_query_arg() functions.

      These plugins were vulnerable earlier this year, I think they fixed this vulnerability now but every year they find a new vulnerability with the plugins.

      The problem is that they only find these vulnerabilities after tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of Wordpress sites have been hacked.

    It's very easy to hack Wordpress as its a CMS and a small server you can say it can be hacked very easily if a professional hacker tries to hack it... The PHP cannot be hacked as its the custom language and there are many restrictions on PHP which can be implemented to stop hacking it's very difficult to be hacked...
