Wordpress google XML Sitemap problem

I have a couple of Wordpress sites hostet with Hostgator, never any problems.

Now my newest site, I have the Google XML sitemap plugin installed - as always and google Webmaster tools shows a big red X saying:

URL restricted by robots.txt
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.

I did the exact same thing as always.

HELP please!!

  • That means the "robots.txt" file in your domain has some instruction that is preventing Google from accessing it. To get the contents of the "robots.txt" file from your domain just use:
    http://www.example.com/robots.txt
