Hello,

I am trying to find a Licensing Software that is relatively simple to handle.

The way I see it - I do not require same functionality (and expenses) as Fujitsu Siemens and other of the true big guns.

Is there any relatively simple software out there that can do the trick?

I want to create a trial software that may become paid- and licensed properly.

Thanks
Brgds

    Hi Cheng,

There are dozens (if not hundreds) of different ways to protect software.
    Just type

    shareware software protection

into Google and you will find most of them.

Just remember that most copyprotection schemes don't work.
Look how many keygens there are out for products such as PhotoShot, DreamWeaver, CAD Programs etc

If the program is popular, someone is going to spend a lot of time trying to bust it.

Years ago, I wrote a simple $15 shareware app that become very popular (it was featured on all the computer magaines etc), and though it had software protection on it, somewone had spent the time to "crack" it, and even today, if you search for it by name, you will find pages of instruction on how to greak the code.. And all this for a $15 program!

Take care, and best of success with your software apps.

    Bruce

      Thanks for replying,

I will certainly try the search string you recommend

My efforts in searching for "licensing software" have not been that much of a success. The most interesting one is a software priced at 600USD (which as a one time payment for use on several products could be acceptable), but as it also depends on a $60 - 100 monthly hosting of secure server - it is absolutely not very attractive - less say affordable - for my products. (Perhaps later)

Sorry to hear about your problems. Virus makers and code crackers seems to live quite special lifes.
It have always amazed me to hear (and learn) about their efforts to damage other peoples useful tools.

      Thanks again

How about trying to find some other software programmer who might have a licensing system set up already. You can ask him to provide you a licensing system for your own software and you could offer him a share of earnings in return.

Of course it would be another matter of finding a programmer that you can trust who happens to have a licensing system that can be used by your own software, but if you're into internet marketing (which I assume you are as you're also a member on this internet marketing forum), then I suppose you can apply some persuasive emailing so you can convince those people that you might need to JV with.

Then, when you've made enough money to cover the costs of purchasing your own licensing system, just create version 2 of your software on your own without anybody else cutting in on your take.

Just an idea. Hope it helps.
