Hi All,

One of our clients is using Vbulletin forums script.

Unfortunately domain expired and client did not care about this because he want to use same forums at new domain. He have full backup and now he bought new domain and restore all backup there.

Forums is opening perfect but when we click on any category or thread its going to old domain.

If login with admin credentials then also its going to old domain.

So please let us know that how can we change URL of forums from database, because as i see online that from admin we can do it but currently we are unable to login as admin to this forums.

Hope for quick response.

    • Hoping for same. I think because its paid forums script and so script is very complex specially with VBseo plugins because URL structure is completely different while htaccess is looking basics. Not getting what to do.

  • Thi is a pretty old post, but here goes an anwer if you have not done it already.

You need to go open the db.sql file and change the urls, of couse that would take time and you can make mistates if you done manually so it is best to use regex or regular expressions and and excellen tool in windows to accomplish that is PowerGrep.

Just Google PowerGrep and you will find its website in first position.

There is a learning curve, but it can help you make any modifications to any site or document in the future.

Also, you don't need PowerGrep to use regex, but that is a Window OS option if you don't program with Perl which is the best languge to handle regex, the best one, not the only one as most programming languages now suport PCRE or Perl Compatible Regular Expression as, again, Perl is the best for that.
