Need Help With Video Not Showing In WordPress

Hello,

The embedded video shows and plays fine on the home page but when you click on the title of the post in order to go to the post itself, there the video is not showing up.

Here is a short video I made to help explain my problem:

  • It was a conflict between plugins :rolleyes:

    The 2 plugins that do not play well together are..

    S3 FlowShield & Josh Bartletts Easy Video Player.

    So if you have these 2 plugins and are having a problem with your videos working on one page in your site but not another - here is your solution - deactivate one of them.

    They are both fantastic plugins but one has a little something that the other does not, so it is more of a personal choice as to which one to go with.

    • Steve, we just installed EVP and it's a web application and not a WordPress plugin. However, thanks for pointing out this conflict as I know of several folks that have both of these fine products on the same install. The thinking was that EVP would be great for video marketing and S3FlowShield would be great for protecting file links. Maybe a future update to one or the other will fix the issue.

    The concept of "locking to a domain" is a JavaScript or PHP "trick" that can easily be bypassed. If the setup requires that you set the file permissions on S3 to "Read by Everyone" then the file is NOT secure, not matter what the application says.

    Sounds concerning. Looks like you have the answer though. I dont know how Easy Vided Player secures the file permissions.... Will send in a support ticket to find out. Good to know that it looks like you have the answer though. Do you have the answer for non wordpress sites as well?

    Yes, but the product is not out yet. It's in the works. The technology will be similar to S3FlowShield....just working on a front-end for non-WP sites to make it easy and yet just as powerful and secure.

      Wil has an awesome product (S3 FlowShield) and his will lock it down because the permission is not set to 'everyone' in S3.

      Where as with Easy Video Player it is (currently) required to have the permissions set to everyone. EVP is 'secure-like' because it will lock to assigned web url's and another feature is the option of using S3's timed urls. But since it requires the permissions to be set to everyone, the window for thieves, no matter how small, is still there.

      The 2 products have enough differences that they both should be in the online marketers tool belt.

      The original problem I had when I could not get the 2 products to work together actually had very little to do with Wil's S3 FlowShield. I recently discovered that there is a problem with the EVP playing nice with the Visual editor on WordPress.

      I made a help video for Joshes support section on his website that describes the problem and a few solutions.

      There is one minor issue with S3 Flowshield & EVP and I'm sending them a support ticket regarding it. That is one thing about both Wil & Josh, is their Customer Service is fantastic.
