what's the best way to sell downloadables?

Hi,

What is the cheapest way to start selling downloadables?

I thought about ejunkie and payloadz, it seems they can host files?

I'd rather have a third party handling security, like client information
and have my files hosted in their server as well.

I could go with DLguards, but then, my main fear is to get hacked,
and have my client's information or a mailicious script installed.

Any ideas how ejunkie and payloads or other option would work?

  • Personally, I've been using OpenCart to sell downloadable goods for awhile now. You might want to check them out - they have a great support forum and they get regular updates so from what I know, it's fairly safe and secure. I've only been doing this for a few months, though.

  • I've used e-junkie for several months now and the downloads are protected and also have expiring links. I would highly recommend them.. You can also use there system do create affiliate schemes for your products..

    You could build a website using Joomla see Joomla[.]org

    and then use a free extension like the one below (pay to download) -
    www[.]extensions[.]joomla[.]org/extensions/e-commerce/subscriptions/4617

  • The cheapest? How about ... and easiest, and fastest... way to get started selling your downloadable products? I created this for the non-techies. Not much customization options (maybe none) but you can definitely get cheapest, easiest, fastest. No fees, no registrations... just upload and sell!

  • For on-site carts, look at Magento and VPASP. I don't use those for non-tangible goods, but I think I've seen the options in the paid versions.
