There are a couple of ways of doing this:

- If you have a CPanel the easiset way of doing this is to use the Backup utility (in the File Management section). In the utility you have the option to backup the entire site (i.e. files, databases and e-mail) to a ZIP file or backup the individual components.

- You can also do it manually. Copy the files to your local computer via FTP and then archive them into a ZIP file. Keep in mind that if you have a CMS like WordPress or Joomla or Drupal you will also need to use PHPMyAdmin to do an Export of the databases into a .sql file.

- If the site does use a CMS and the new owner is not going to be using the same Domain Name then there is an additional task of replacing all instances of the domain name within the database with the new one. This isn't as scary as it sounds, you can do this manually with a text editor (search & replace) or use a Plugin for WordPress.

- Also, if it is a CMS based site the new owner will need to adjust the configuration files to reflect the parameters of the new database the he/she needs on the new host to accommodate the site.

If you are also selling the Domain Name you will need to fill out a transfer request form at your registrar.
