Private Label-style version Website

I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this...but I don't know where to turn to learn more. Any help / direction would be so appreciated!

Currently:

I have a small business online (loan modification). We put out hundreds of pages of content, hours of video, etc. We continually create books and other products.

The need:

Lots of folks would like to resell our products and / or start their own similar small business...they would like a copy of our website, content, etc, with their name and so on.

The dream:

I would like to be able to rent (probably a monthly fee) someone a private label version of my site. I would like my content to feed into their site. I would like them to be able to offer my products, using their affiliate links, and so on.

Simply put:

I need an easy way to create duplicates of my own website. The new user is going to have to be able to insert some of their own info to customize the website - photo, phone number, affilate code, etc.

I really appreciate you reading this and helping in anyway you can. I think part of the problem is I don't know the correct terms to describe my needs ... so my online searching is fruitless. I currently use wordpress so a wpmu solution would be a natural fit.

Talk soon!

This may be too simple, but Wordpress offers an "Export" option that saves the contents of your website. Then your partner business could load the content into their Wordpress site. They could make changes to the content after they upload it, and would have to change the links to show their affiliate ID. If you are drip feeding information to their website, you may have to use rss or have a plugin created.

Thanks Dee - I'm hoping something is out there more turnkey / automatic. Thanks for responding!

    Ryan, a couple of ideas:

    - first you could create a subdomain or subdirectory for each new user, that can become the holding place for their customized website copy

    - each new user could simply use the URL as-is or use a 301 redirect to that URL from any domain name they own, domain masking can further hide the subdomain or subdirectory location

    - for the turnkey nature you were asking for, you could create a blank website template from your existing website that uses variables for their customized info, such as creating a form page to collect their responses, then assigning variables for their first and last name, their contact info, etc., this is easy to do with Smarty Templates and PHP

    - to be more flexible you could just create a content feed in RSS or XML that anyone can use on any website, kind of like a module they can place anywhere they want

    - you could opt for the traditional affiliate management route by offloading these types of problems to Linkshare or Shareasale or Commission Junction, you sign up as an advertiser in their network, your content is made available to new users, they handle all of the registration and tracking

Good luck and let us know what you decide to do. Thanks.

    Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

Do some of the folks such as commission junction offer such solutions? I think of them as a way to get access to an affiliate code that is otherwise static.

I've since found some software folks advertising 'Website Replication' software, primarily targeted toward MLMers. That kind of describes my neads.

      Ryan,

No CJ doesn't offer such solution. What you want requires specific customization and integration. This is something I do on a regular basis, I'm building solutions online for 12 years now, I did sent you a PM yesterday didn't you receive it?

      Best regards,
