How ca n i improve my programming skills?

    Hey Harry,
    good that u r looking forward to improve ur programming skills, first thing u should find out which area ur much interested in. For example iam a java programmer, i prefer java bcos its a open source n has wide scope to learn.

    Decide on which language u want to learn n then search for its material over the internet n start with beginers program, then step by step increase ur skillset.

    focus on a set of areas you want to improve on and take each one in turn and find materials on that area alone and learn upto what you want to learn then move onto the next area.

    if you dont define what you want to learn then it will be more of a scatta gun approach and you will end not knowing the info in depth

    You've probably already visited W3 Schools, but if not here's the link:

    W3Schools Online Web Tutorials

    Take their courses in sequence and do the practice samples, they build upon one another and will teach you good programming techniques.

    If you have the opportunity to work with or have your work evaluated by a seasoned coder do it. I was essentially self-taught, save for some BASIC and Fortran lessons in the 70's. In 2001 I worked on a Visual Basic project with a code team, and all of our code was subject to a weekly code review. That experience did wonders for me and really improved my coding techniques.
