Help with using WP Cloner

I try to set up WP Cloner from mass-automation. It is a server based script and me being unfamiliar with setting up and using this kind of scripts, am confused and frustrated.
The merchant does not give a user manual and their support is not able to give clear and easy to understand instructions.

So, I set it up somehow, but I cannot figure out, if I have done it correctly and how to use WP Cloner at all.

Can someone help me out of this misery, please?

  • This is just my personal experience of WP-Cloner.

    I have used it more than a few times, and though it does work, it still doesn't do enough features to make it a "kick ass" wordpress copier.

    I make a lot of autoblogs and make good money from them, so I am contsnatly looking for an easy way to mass install wordpress.

    I found WP-Cloner to do 90%-95% of what is needed but never does it all..

    I have been using WPmanagerDX ( http://www.wpmanagerdx.com/ ), and found that to work much better.

    But it still not perfect so the hunt goes on for the perfect solution..

      I am also hunting, and have a list of possible candidates:

      1. WpManagerDX
      2. Wp-Hive
      3. VMB Virtual Multiblog
      4. WpController -- mid June 2010
      5. Wp 3.0 with multi-user - mid June 2010
      6. WP_OneInstall .... (Seems dead.)

      Any thoughts?
  • @Bruce: Where exactly does WPMangerDX fall short? I'm looking at buying it to manage my own autoblogs.

  • I like wp desktop installer. Works on windows, Mac and linux. Desktop WordPress Mass Blog Installer & Manager Software for Windows/Mac/Linux

    they also have a feature to update plugins on multiple blogs. Very easy walk through wizard to install.

    • I'm sure I read somewhere on the forum that someone has a WSO on using free tools for this sort of thing.

  • Well, it now looks like WpController is not coming out soon. I don't think the folks at BumbleSoft are very good at communicating. Or developing for that matter, since their sites are virtually dead now.

    Have you tried Wordpress 3 multiuser features?

      well, I have not progressed much. Still unclear on the benefits or features that Hive or VMB offer over the plain WP3.0 multisite.

      WpManagerDX seems useful at a low price. WpController is delayed, with a new answer from the owners to expect more delays.

      What have you found?
