Online member marketplace

Hey guys (1st post!).

I'm looking for a pre-built or custom solution similar to, say, an Envato marketplace like themeforest.net--that is, a site where people can go and upload their (digital) products and sell copies of them to people who visit the site.

Can anybody help me out? Is there a pre-built solution for this? Is finding a programmer on some freelancing site the way to go? (If so, which?)

    This is a pretty tough bit of code to get right. I'm not aware of anything really suitable for this, but you might want to look at doing it in Drupal. It would certainly possible to do most of this in that, but it's going to take a fair amount of coding somewhere for it.

    I'd ask for a recommendation here rather than flying into elance etc quite yet...

        I just saw this too! Looks like it might need a bit of work to get it to a really polished final product, but perhaps that's a better way to go than getting it coded by scratch... Thanks for your response, btw!
