Autoblogging/Fetching RSS Feeds

I've got a basic question regarding autoblogging and fetching feeds.

I'm setting up my autoblog. I'm using WP-o-matic and Autoblogged. I've successfully set-up my cronjob , but can't figure how to assign my feeds to specific pages.

I.e., feed#1 fetched to page #1, feed#2 page fetched to #2 etc.

I know this has to be a VERY simple procedure. If someone can tell me how to do this.

Appreciate it .

Thanks!

  • You may not be able to assign the "posts" to specific "pages" (I mean Wordpress pages) at least not with these RSS-to-blog tools. However, you can specify the target categories for these posts once they are brought into your blog. From there, its really up to you how you want your categories and posts displayed on your blog.

      Hey thanks for responding.

So basically your saying with the tools I have listed, the best I could do would be to create targeted categories for each desired RSS feed, then just assign the targeted categories to those pages that i wish to display content on?

How are folks normally routing content to specific pages in Wordpress blogs, so that this process is as automated as much as possible?

      Thanks again

  • Yes. Most of these tools/plug-ins allow you to direct the auto-generated posts into designated categories of your choice when you configure the plug-ins. Once you get these posts into your blog, there are many ways of displaying them and that depends on how you want the information to flow for your readers. Some site owners choose to have unique articles as sticky posts on the home page or for each category so the blog looks professional and authoritative and some just let the generated posts be at the top of each category.

In addition to your requirements, your strategy can be fine tuned depending the quality of content generated by the auto-content plugin you use. As with blogs with authoritative and manually edited content, the design of your auto-generated blog and its information flow depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.

      yeah,
I defintely want the feeds to go to specific pages and not to the homepage.

I'm just trying to eliminate as many steps as possible.

      I'll test it out.

      Thanks

Do we need to set-up cronjobs on our own? I just setup WP-o-Matic plugin and it took me through a 4 steps procedure, i guess the Cronjob must have got setup on its own. am i right?
