Using A Javascript To Install A Toolbar

Hey Warriors,

This is so far beyond the realm of what I even remotely know how to do but I figured there's gotta be a warrior that has some sort of a clue.

Anyway, I've been testing a CPA offer that is a free toolbar download that has been converting but not as much nor as high as I would like. I'm getting TONS of click throughs, but not as many downloads as I would have thought.

In fact, I believe that I'm getting like less than 1% of the people that actually click through to the offer page to actually download the toolbar.

Here's why I think I'm having a problem with conversions...

Basically, my current setup is send ppc traffic to landing page that has a banner image promoting the product that essentially says something along the lines of "click here for your free stuff". Then, once on the offer page they essentially get a button that's very similar in wording, and once they click that, they are taken to the page to actually download and install the toolbar.

My thoughts are, since I'm getting such a low conversion from my traffic that has in fact clicked through to the offer page, that the prospect is kinda confused and is wondering why they would essentially have to click the same thing twice (and in their mind possibly more times).

My landing pages are modeled after other affiliate sites that I saw out there but I did come across one particular affiliate that was directing traffic to what appears to be the toolbar installation page. When I hover over the button I get the following link in the bottom left corner of my browser "javascript:installToolbar();" which leads me to assume that they are taking the traffic and having the toolbar installed immediately once they click as opposed to going to the offer page and then download page like I currently have done (I can't check because the offer is only for Windows machines and I'm a proud Mac user ).

So, my question then becomes, how does one go about creating that type of a javascript? I literally have no idea where to even start from a search stand point (as in what to actually search for) let alone how to actually implement this action.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be absolutely incredible!

Sorry if it seems like I overloaded my post with a bunch of information, I just wanted to make sure I had all of my bases covered :-).

Thanks warriors!
