Index Page Encrypted-Please help

Hello All,

I have my index page on my website encrypted with javascript. I had bought this website from somebody a few months ago.

My problem here is I am not able to make any changes to my index page because I see only the javascript on the index page. Is there anyway to decrypt this code..please help.

    Javascript ?? And no, you should have probably not got into an agreement like this in the first place.

    Many many many web designers will offer to host your site, so they can rape you on the fees, and own our site outright, with you caught holding your nuts and nothing much else.

      Yes you are right jminkler, I didn't realise this when I was buying the site you know..I site was all uploaded by the seller and he gave me a copy of the site.I did not bother to check all the files then..so I guess it's my mistake :confused:

    Sorry to hear about your situation.

    In this case , I can give you an suggestion.

    If you have paid the seller via Paypal , then raise an Case againts him on paypal & resolve it via Paypal resolution center.

    By this way , you can demand the full source code of the site or just the money back from the seller.

    But before doing this , contact the seller & convey him that you are going to raise Paypal CASE , if he does'nt help you.


    Hope this solves your problem , though not technically :-)

    Its really annoying when something like that happens, but you should always take it up with the seller first. In some cases they may agree to decrypt it for you, theres no harm in trying.

    If they don't, then what where the T&C's of the sale? If there was no mention of this i would demand a refund from them as the site is all but useless to you - or the payment processor if they allow it.

    In most cases it can be encrpyted but it depends what they have used to achieve this in the first place. If you have exhausted all other avenues then feel free to PM me and i'll take a look at it for you.
