.htaccess equivalency on IIS

PROGRAMMING

Hi,

I am looking to set up a redirect for all my pages for when my users don't type in www and instead just type in http://pagename.aspx.

All my pages are stored under www and I would really like to resolve this issue as search engines sometimes direct users to the root of my site without the www part in the URL.

Could someone please walk me through the process or point me to a good tutorial?

ISAPI Rewrite is terrible. Don't use it. It's not fully compliant to mod_rewrite

  You really do not need to rewrite or redirect the request. Why not just add the necessary dns entry so that it works with or without www?

What I would recommend is setting up a redirect in IIS as a separate web site. What's nice about that is you can log those accesses so you know how many people are doing that.
