Wordpress privacy settings causing site to be invisible

I have a wordpress site that has been indexed on google and on the first page for about a month. I upgraded wordpress recently and since the upgrade my site is showing up in google only sporadically. One day it is there, the next it is gone. Google webmaster tools shows that it has jumped from 7th to 5th in the rankings for the main keyword it is ranked for during the time it has been messing up.

I think it might be a problem with the wordpress privacy settings but I checked and it is set to visible. I am going to go through the code on the pages to see if I can see anything that is off but I am not sure if I will know what I am looking for.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have several wordpress sites ranked in google and none of the others are having this problem. Maybe I should try to rebuild the site somehow.

Suggestions would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Is this a new site? Sometimes especially new sites acts funny for a bit before settling down, in fact don't be surprised if it disappears from the rankings for a few weeks. If it's on Google's first page then don't touch it until it settles down.

  Fairly new...I put it up in early Feb and it has been sitting solidly since the 2nd week I put it up until this week when it is there and gone again then next.

yeah, things that like happen to newish sites, give it a week or two and it should settle at the position it was at previously.

There are several server farms for search, you or others may hit different ones, sometimes they update or show results differently until everything settles back again.

Don't follow rankings too closely, you'll just get confused. Google does what it wants, when it wants. You're best off concentrating on content, and it'll all work itself out in the end.

Google Webmaster Tools usually shows ranking for that shows in USA for English language. In my case it is totally other than when I search with my native browser setting (Poland).
