  • According to Stats Support — WordPress.com

Google Analytics cannot be used on Wordpress.com hosted blogs. They do not allow you to insert the required line of code.

    • As I posted above, no plugin is going to help you (not allowed at wordpress.com) and you can't change the footer code.

All the above suggestions, other than mine, only apply to self-hosted WP installations.

  • Just paste the code that Google Analytics gives you into the footer.php file, directly BEFORE the closing </body> tag.

Every page on your site will include the code.

    • Use the google analytics code in your websites very bottom just before </body> tag. I do not know about wordpress blogs, but I gues if you are able to edit html when you are able to insert google analytics source code. Try to search about the footer stuff in wordpress hosted blog. Use other solutions to host your blog and you will have no problems looking for such a problem.

  • why not get your own host? it's literally $3-6 a month. WordPress is free and EASY to install through Fantastico (in most cPanels)

ON second thought, if you do not want to pay for hosting, Blogspot (just as good as ***free*** version of WordPress) allows you to use Google Analytics.

If someone wants to voice how WordPress is SOO MUCH MORE powerful than Blogspot, I agree. If you host your own, of course.

But considering free version of WP is piece of crap, in terms of 'powerful features', i'd say go with BlogSpot.

Of course, why would almighty google not allow analytics code on their OWN blog?
