Help with WP Widgets

I have been putting up a couple of different websites in the past couple of days and have been unable to move around and customize the widgets for different themes. All the cursor does is highlight all the text in the widget area when i try to move it to the sidebar. No matter what WP theme i try, the same thing happens. I have no idea why this is happening....:confused:

any ideas or suggestions?

    There's a thread here at Wordpress support forums that seems to have helped at least some people resolve something similar to this. It's 3 pages long but you might find what you're looking for. A lot of it seems to be affecting the Thesis theme, particularly:

      hi. move it to the sidebar first, then add your text. hit save. then close it. that's what i do and it works.

    If it's the styling you're after then you need to edit the styling in your sidebars - not the widgets.

    Go to Appearance>Editor to edit your current theme and look for files on the right which are probably named page.php or post.php.

    When you have the edit window up for those pages look for sections on the sidebars and edit them. You'll generally be able to edit sidebar headers (often H3), sidebar background colour and sidebar fonts.

    If you're having difficulty finding the CSS element to edit (a very common problem!) install the Firebug add-on to Firefox, click 'inspect' and hover your mouse over the bits you want to edit. Firebug will tell you what div or class it is and then you can go find that in your editing window.

    @ DPM70 - Thanks a bunch for that trouble shooting link. Those people were having the same problems I was having and finally on the third page I found the solution. Everything works great now. Thanks a bunch for you help!!
