Password problems

I have an old blog at which I cannot recover the admin password (apparently when I installed it I did not change the email address from the default, so my requests to reset the admin password are going off into the ether).

I do have access to the cpanel but can't quite figur out how change the email address through there.

Any suggestions would be helpful and hopefully not to complicated.

If this should not be posted here any suggestions on that would also be helpful.

Thank you all,
Bob

  • Go to cpanel.

    Go to phpmyadmin

    Select wp database.

    Go to users table.

Select edit on the row with the admin user.

The password is encrypted -- so replace with plain text. Use the drop down box to tell it to be md5.

    Done
  • You can do like stma told above. Or just change the email address better than the password, if changing the email with steps above more easier for you
