{Joomla} AEC is installed, but I have a lot of errors!

File Permissions Problems

AEC has detected that you are using an Apache Webserver - To be able to hack files on such a server, those files have to be owned by the webserver user, which apparently is not so for at least one of the neccessary files. If the hacks already worked just fine, you can ignore this!

We recommend that you temporarily change the file permissions to 777, then commit the hacks and change it back after that. Contact your server host or administrator for the possibly quickest response when experiencing problems. This is the same for the file permission related suggestion(s) below.

joomla.php/mambo.php File Permissions

The AEC has detected that your joomla.php is not owned by the webserver.

Access your webserver via ssh and go to the directory \"/includes\". There, type in this command: \"chown wwwrun joomla.php\" (or \"chown wwwrun mambo.php\" in case you are using mambo). If the hacks already worked just fine, you can ignore this!

JACL not installed

If you plan to install JACLplus in your joomla!/mambo system, please make sure that the AEC hacks are not committed when doing so. If you have already committed them, you can easily undo them in our hacks page

I have no idea what any of this means! I can't even figure out how to put a "Buy Now" button on my home page for people to subscribe!

Man, long day.

Thanks for any help!

P.S. I Google'd and searched WF for answers, couldn't find any.

    Kory:

could you please clarify how AEC / JACL are used (or planned to be used) on your site. Do you really need all this for just putting a "Buy Now" subscription button?
I have been successful troubleshooting all Joomla extension errors I have ever run into. However, I have to say - the less 3rd party extension you have on your Joomla site the better. So, my question is - are they really needed on your site and why?
