WP Sidebar: Stuff not showing

Hi Warriors,

I did a "minor" edit on my WP site, and now if I try to add anything to the sidebar, it only shows if I am logged in to the site. If I log out, the addition to the sidebar does not show. Stuff I have tried adding are a YouTube video embed and Amazon Carousel.

Any ideas?

I DID backup - but it was corrupted (bah!).

Cheers - Richard

  • Would you upload or post the contents of your Wordpress theme's "sidebar.php" file?

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for your interest - I really appreciate it.

I was going to upload the sidebar.php, but thought I'd obfuscate the ClickBank ID, as one does. Then I realised that the sidebar contents were nothing like what I see on my site!

Am going to restore an older backup - as I suspect that there's something more than a little problem with my site.

    Regards,

    Richard

I think it's a mix of my clumsiness and a bad plugin.

    SOLVED!

I had (like a moron) last week scouted the Web for easy quick fixes for speeding-up my WP site. One of those "fixes" was to enable MySQL caching. Forgot I'd done it... until about 5 minutes ago. Switched it off, deleted the cache pages (Wow! were there a GAZILLION of 'em!), and all is well.
