I'm trying to break down a shopping cart (ecommerce app) into small parts

Hi, I want to try to break down an ecommerce solution or shopping cart app into basic parts I can learn like "image gallery" , or "registration". Does anyone know of what a breakdown of the parts would be that I could learn separately? Any help greatly appreciated.

    The best way to learn about something, is to "break it down" yourself.

    That way you learn "how to see" and can analyse things better..

      Have you pulled down ( apart ) any application code previous to this?

      The reason I ask is, some scripts of this genre (I've never used that word before!) can be written in such a way as it could make it a bit difficult for you to recognize the Parts themselves.

      You might want to get hold of say - a simple membership script and break that down and maybe see how some really bad code is written... then work your way up.

      It's only a suggestion though, If I had such a script many years ago I'm sure I'd be head down, bum up , delving into it.... I started out fixing dodgey safelist scripts too long ago now...
