Needs to keep changing login?

I received this email from a customer who wanted me to make some changes to their wordpress blog after I told them I couldn't log on.
"I've had chronic problems with this site, and will reset the password - that helps for awhile, but needs to be done every few days."

Has anyone experienced a problem like this? It is hosted on GoDaddy.

  • It would be worth checking that the site hasn't been hacked.

    And this is allowing someone else to get in and change passwords.

    I had similar problems with godaddy, here are some suggestions:

    1. Comparte some of the php programs to you originals, (I hope that you have an original backup of them) sometime you will find some strange code there.

    2. Report this issue with godaddy technical support, sometimes they know if some attack has occurred.

    3. In your directory (and all the subdirectories) look for a file with <form, a hacker is able to add php files via <form, so check the them.

    4. Change all the passwords, ftp, godaddy, database, WP-admin and make a backup of everything.

    • I glanced through the php files and didn't see anything suspicious. What she is telling me now is that if she types in the whole administrator address at once her login works. But if she goes to her site first and then types wp-admin at the end of the address the login won't work. Clear cookies? Change secret key?
