Hello everyone,
Any suggestions on how much should I charge for fixing/clearing all malware scripts on 7 infected websites and are blocked by google?
#programming #blocked #client #malware #scripts #websites
  • anyone? :?
  • All depends on how badly they are infected and how hard it is to clean up... nobody can tell you that, you will have to dig in there and figure it out.
  • first of all, try to remove all the ads from your website(even some default script shows malware error - i too got it once).
    then try opening the site.
if still the problem persist. you need to goto programmer for removing them..

let me know, if u need anything more.
  • Instead of removing malware, you can upload and overwrite with your backup. This will help to remove malware complately

    • Hi Jeba

That word Backup is usually preceeded with - "Oh <insert colorful expletive here> I should have done a ......"

      @MykEfx

So yes, if you have a backup that would be a quick way to fix it but finding out how the gremlin got in there in the first place is more important to help prevent it happening again...

Is this Malware you speak of - one of those annoying Iframe injections or something else?

Those Iframe things have been rampant for sometime now.

7 Sites - on the assumption its an Iframe Injection - they only target the index.php/html files "usually". A quick way to tell what pages have been hit is to FTP in and check the timestamps on the files.

Someone on here may have a bit more advice on how to prevent these attacks. It's an interesting topic... < hint hint >

You haven't mentioned if these sites are Wordpress, Joomla etc or just straight HTML files.

Say it takes an hour or two - what's your hourly rate - charge on that basis!

Just be aware that if you do charge something over the top and it happens again... then your client may not smile upon you too kindly.

      Just some food for thought!
      Tim
