help importing blog into wordpress

I am trying to move my blog from Blogger.com to my wordpress.org which has one wp blog set up already. I use wp 3.01 with super admin setup.

I exported the blog from blogger to my computer and when I try to import to wp site, I get this mesg"Please upload a valid WXR (WordPress eXtended RSS) export file" everytime I try.

I tried to use"myphp.admin":confused: to import with sql and couldn't figure out the right way to do it.

can anyone help.

  • You can't import the exported file from blogger.
    All it is, is a copy of the feed.

    You have to install the Blogger Importer plug-in.
    Click on Blogger under the Tools->Import
    It will pop-up an install Blogger Importer.

    Then click Import->Blogger again, it will give you a window to all Access via your Goggle account.

    After that you can select which blogger blog to import.

    NOTE: I noticed on my test that WP made the blogger tags categories and applied them to the posts..

    • Hi and thanks for your response. I forgot to include that I have the import plug-in installed,but when i use it there is nothing showing in posts or comments and when I clear and start over I get "There is nothing to import, did you already import this blog".

      When i first started this blog I did not have a domain attached,later i got the domain name and so it looks like when I moved the domain to my host acct all my stuff reverted to blogger.com,because when I click on the "view site" from the edit page I was logged into, the url changes to blogger.com and shows my site.

      my main site"marketing-recipe.com/playallgospel has access to blogger.com,but playallgospel.com does not have access by itself. I can't get the info with this setup.

      I hope this makes sense
