How can I get rid of Java?

Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong topic but was just wondering if someone can help as I have spent hours googleing ways to fix this and have tried everything....

I had Java (from Sun) installed on my computer as I use it for Open Office and stuff but one of the jar files corrupted and was cached on my computer and some programs that require Java have stopped working properly.

I tried clearing caches and temp files and a load of other stuff as well as uninstalling Java and removing any files associated with Java off my computer but it is still corrupted. I got the new version and installed with my antivirus turned off but it still won't work.

I'm thinking that there is still Java stuff hiding on my computer (apologies as I am not techy at all) but don't know how to get rid of it but maybe that's not even the problem.

Some people say try to reinstall old versions of Java but that doesn't work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yves

What programs are showing that error.
It may be one of them that is caching the error.
