Does Facebook, MySpace allow standard HTML?

Hi,

Since "widgets" are so popular at these sites, it seems there is special coding. Is that true or can I offer plain HTML to my affiliates like an email subscription form going to my site with their aff id?

Thanks,

Dave

  • I know that facebook does not allow any of that stuff at all but on myspace you can get away with a few things but I doubt it would allow a direct form submission on someones profile. It would probably need to be in a flash/silverlight app to be allowed. Best way to find out is to try though. Just put one on your myspace page and try to use it.

    • yes you could do that via myspace easily, however with myspace's policies they will notify users that any forms may be a scam thus making your form seem shady.

with facebook the process is a little more complex but easy once you get the hang of it, I recommend looking up a tutorial for starting out with the facebook api, if you need any help doing this just pm me
  • what are samples of tags we can use on these sites?
