Recommended Resources For Redirects, Cloaking?

Hiya,

Are there any resources that could help a newbie understand how to do redirects and link cloaking? I know HTML, but little else (java, PHP etc). I bought a short forwarding domain name.

I jumped into this subject after I heard a successful internet marketer on a webinar say he cloaked his affiliate links by use of a php script on a redirect site. And I said "huhhh?"

Basically ...
on your site you have a script .. say go.php
http://site.com/go.php

and in that script maybe you look up a keyword that is hooked to a link in a database
http://site.com/go.php?kw=clickbankid

which is better than just putting the clickbank link right there
with .htacess and mod_rewrite you could turn this into
http://site.com/go/clickbankid

  Lets say you have a site www.mysite.com with a blog on which you have some links for your affiliate link for several products you are selling say at
  
  HTML Code:
  
  www.aweightlossproduct.com?affid=12345
  
  and
  
  HTML Code:
  
  www.anexerciseproduct.com?affid=12345
  
  etc, etc.
  
  create a folder called for instance /irc (I recommend)
  
  in that folder put your php files for each product
  
  weightloss.php
  
  exercise.php
  
  in your php files just put your affilliate links as follows
  
  HTML Code:
  
  <?php header('Location:http://www.aweightlossproduct.com?affid=12345'); ?>
  
  this would be saved as weightloss.php
  
  HTML Code:
  
  <?php header('Location:http://www.anexerciseproduct.com?affid=12345); ?>
  
  this would be saved as exercise.php
  
  Now your link in you blog becomes
  
  HTML Code:
  
  www.mysite.com/irc/weightloss.php
  
  and
  
  HTML Code:
  
  www.mysite.com/irc/exercise.php
  
  and you can add as many php files as products you have.
