I just got a horrible phone call, my virtual dedicated server has been down and I was just told that there was a hardware failure in the data center that took my as well as other hard drives with it. I have 24 websites on this server of which I have current backups for about 10 of them. I've been so busy I haven't been keeping up on my backups...shame on me.

They were able to salvage all of my data but they are giving it to me loaded on a secondary drive. I basically have to rebuild everything but I have the old data to work with.
My question for anyone that might know, is it possible to retrieve anything from the mysql data directories to recover databases? The .frm .myd etc... files are in binary format. Can they be loaded into a reader or decoded somehow?
Thanks for any help! If someone has experience extracting mysql data I would be happy to hire you, I'm willing to put in the work but not everyone is willing to hand out that free advice. My number 1 priority right now is getting this server and the sites running again ;-)
