Gravatar question

This might be a dumb question, but if gravatar images are associated with email addresses, what's to stop someone else from pretending to "be you" on a bunch of blogs if they know your email address? Or is there another preventative measure with gravatar that I'm missing?

  • Nothing to prevent someone from being "you".
  • Isn't that a security issue? Am I the only one who sees this as something potentially abused?
  • Why would it be a security issue? It's just an avatar. If you're uncomfortable with it, just remove it.
