Hello Warriors. I am not sure if this is the place for this question but I hope somebody will be able to help me.

I have about 7 websites hosted under one main account at hostgator. This weekend one of the sites stopped working. I mean when you type the domain at a browser (backpainremediesblog dot com) I get blank screen. the same happens if I try to access the admin area (/wp-admin); nothing. Just a blank white screen.

I used FTP to verify that the all WP files were stil there and I don't see any problem.

I try to restore an old copy with same results.

Then I erased the entire site and re installed wp again and everything worked fine until I imported my old mysql file backup. then everything went back to blank screen.

It appears that there is something on the database causing this issue.

Have you ever seen something like this?

I would appreciate any ideas you may have. This page is on ranked on Goggle page one for the KW and i hate lossing it

  • First thing I would check your error_log file. If there is a blank screen, then chances are a PHP error would explain (or at least hint) at what's going on.

Also, (if nothing turns up in the error_log) perhaps use PhpMyAdmin to run a ANALYZE/REPAIR operation on your database tables.

  • your site isn't giving any errors or anything... when I pull wp-admin I'm getting

    Database Upgrade Required

WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to upgrade your database to the newest version.

The upgrade process may take a little while, so please be patient.

What happens after you do that?

    • Thanks for the suggestions.

I updated the database and noww I am able to access to the admin area but if I try to view my site I still see blank screen.

I try to switch themes but any themes shows the same results a blank screen. The long shows somethig not very clear (to me anyway). it says

[25-Oct-2010 15:10:27] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/pdo_mysql.so' - /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/pdo_mysql.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

  • This is what I came across with a quick googling

Solution for Wordpress WP-Options Issue - Database Upgrade Required
  • So you have an error in mysql. Try to use some online validators or softwares to repair this issue. probably because mod installation so you touched the database. Maybe there is one character even that is causing this issue. But for sure some mysql error. And for the last post: Did your hosting provider changed some hosting criterias or something?

    • ecashbot, according to my provider, nothing was done on this account. I have another 6 sites on the same account and all of them work just fine
  • try renaming your plugin folder and see if makes a difference.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Have you disabled all your plugins?

Try that (along with the default theme) and see if you get your site back. Then add each plugin until you find the culprit.

    • Thanks everybody for all your suggestions.

I found a that one of my plugins (WP-SpamFree) was causing all the problems.

Now the site is back up. Thanks again to all your great suggestions.

  • Hallo Warriors!

I would need your help too.

Something is wrong with my site, I cannot check it via website hub spot grader, it shows no data, the page rank went from 2 to n/a. and it has been like that for approximately 2 months. Now the plugin for wp-comments stopped working, and the disabling it didn't help.
Could you suggest what should I do? How to check what is wrong and then fix it?

    it is: successupermarket.com/blog

I would greatly appreciate your help

    Thank you
