Google Analytics in WP - How does it works?

Hi there,

I have 3 WP installed in my website.

Let's say, my website is : aidenchong.com, and I have installed 3 different WP installations in different directories namely: launch, newsletter, and aidenchong.com itself

So it would be something like:

aidenchong.com
aidenchong.com/launch/
aidenchong.com/newsletter/

Now I've installed Google Analytics for WordPres. My question is, do I have to install 3 separate Google Analytics profile to all 3 of those independent WP installation, or I would just need one in the main page which is aidenchong.com to be installed?

Thanks for your help given in advance.

    Hello,
I think you don't need to install 3 separate Google Analytic for the profile..

      Hi Aiden Chong,

      It depends.

If you want to track all the traffic at one place. Just use the same code in all the three installations.

If you want to track the traffic separately. Then you can install different codes for three installations.

P.s: I dont think there is any need to install wp three times for one website. You can get what you want through one wp itself

      Regards

Thanks for all of the help given, warriors.

abdulquddus, does it mean that even if I have installed 3 Wordpress in different directory, I only have to place one Google Analytics profile into my main WP installation at aidenchong.com, and Google Analytics will track the other two directories as well? Is that that case?

I am using Google Analytics for WordPress plugin in my main WP installation, I assume that would be OK to track those two other directories as well, right?

    Thanks heaps.

If you have 3 different WP installs you will need to add your GA code to the footer.php off all WP installs.

I agree with this, make one GA account, make three separated website code, and add it manually in the header of every WP respectively.

      Mahesh,

I am using 3 WP installation under 1 domain name.

So it would be something like:

      aidenchong.com
      aidenchong.com/launch/
      aidenchong.com/newsletter/

      All under one domain name.

What do you think about that?
