Take a look at this:

Zanussi ZDS2010S

How does this guy do this, seriously I want to know as he has every product you can imagine on this site, and I have noticed as soon as there is change it is reflected almost immediately onto his site, with what seems no webmaster intervention at all...auto pilot.

I would really like to incorporate this feature into my sites, but can not get my head around it as it is using merchants from multiple networks

Some one please advise me!

I'm not sure what you mean because I have not seen it change. But if you mean sites that change without user intervention, you might be able to do that sort of thing with Ajax or RSS.

Well for one, he is using wordpress along with these plugins:

    All in one SEO
    Revolution Magazine 2.0 theme
WP Review site plugin - http://www.wpreviewsite.com/ - i think this is what is doing the import of products etc. it probably has a function to update every hour or something

I suspect they are using "screen-scraping" - that is, they have programs that fetch pages from the other company's websites and automatically extract product info and prices which they then embed in their own webpages. I worked on such a price comparison site many moons ago and thsi is what we did then - very simple but rather fiddly to do.

And unreliable... all they have to do is change the page design and everything has to be rewritten.
