Hey all,

I recently picked up an affiliate managing software and upon trying to install it I found that I have no clue where to begin. I'm pretty good with everything else, but I've never worked with scripts before

So maybe it's just me and not knowing anything about scripts and such, but if anyone would be able to help me get this thing up I'd very much appreciate it. (And side note: I figured I'd ask here in the 'programming' thread seeing all the PHP/script topics.)

Here's the installation instructions, hopefully you can identify where this script even goes:

archives
hits
messages
notes
sales
track

They all MUST be named exactly as they appear above. Now chmod the data directory and all of the directories inside the data directory to 777.

Onto the scripts!

Open all .cgi files and make sure the first line is the correct path to perl. Now upload them all to your "jv" directory in ASCII format(do not upload them in binary) and chmod them all to 755. Upload config.cgi, paypal.txt, stormpay.txt, and homepage.html to the same directory and chmod them to 777.

All done!

My questions are:

-where do I upload the script folder initially?
-what does "chmod the data directory and all of the directories inside the data directory to 777" mean?
-what's the "path to perl"?

I think I'm asking a lot here, but is anyone willing to help?
