I need a little help here. I am sending this on IE and that is not my main browser.

I have been using fireforx for quite a while with no problems until today.

Whenever I try to call up a site by using the regular way I have been using I get

a blank page. Bottom of the page on the left side it says done. example Itype the

address Amazon.com a blank screen comes come. When I go to view page source I get

this: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"><html><head><title></title></head><body></body></html>

I don't know how to fix this and I sure would appreciate any help

Thank you.

    Wierd.

Clear your cache, both Temporary Internet Files and Firefox Cache.

If all else fails, uninstall, and reinstall Firefox

I know the above reply sounds stupid, but I really can't find a way to clear the temp intennet files and cashe.

I tried uninsall and re install that did now work. Please help as this is holding me up with everything.

    Thanks Tom

Hey Tom, this has happened to me a couple times and happens all the time with my kids' PCs. There are several things you can do to try to resolve this. Let's start with the easiest:

      Flush Your DNS Cache

      - open a cmd prompt (start > run > cmd.exe)
      - type ipconfig /flushdns

See if that fixes your problem.

      ... if not ...

      Set Up a New Profile

      - start > run > firefox.exe -ProfileManager
      - create a new profile

See if that fixes your problem.

      If not,

      Check Your Settings for Proxies
Check your Firefox settings and options and make sure there are no proxies set.

      Within Firefox, go to:
      -- Tools
      -- Options
      -- Advanced
      -- Network
      -- Connection >> Settings

Make sure "No Proxy" is selected.

If this does not help, post back and let me know and I'll try to think of what else I do when this happens to me or my kids' PCs.

      HTH.

Here is what I got when I typed cmd.exe and typed ipconfig /flushdns :

/set classified Modifies the dhcp class id. The default is to display only the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway for each adapter bound to TCP/IP

For release and renew, if no adapter name is specified, then the IP address leases for all adapters bound to TCP/IP will be release or renewed. There are a bunch of other geek speak to lenthly to list here. Botom line it didn't work.

Tried setting up new profile that didn't works as I get "Unable to connect.

Also set No Proxies the last step you instructed stell get the same. I reset my profile to what it was to avoid the unabel to connect.

Check your firewall, it might be blocking Firefox.
