Hi,

I'm having a problem after i install a theme, which works on my other blog, but maybe it's becuase of a newer version.

After installing, i go to create a page and it says

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ob_multipart_entry() (previously declared in /home/heroes/public_html/wp-content/themes/sem-reloaded/inc/multipart-entry/multipart-entry.php:15) in /home/heroes/public_html/wp-content/themes/sem-reloaded/inc/multipart-entry/multipart-entry.php on line 21

Any ideas would be apprechiated

Regards

Simon

  • While sometimes PHP gives some error messages that basically read "its broken", this one is giving a "little" more information.

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ob_multipart_entry() (previously declared in /home/heroes/public_html/wp-content/themes/sem-reloaded/inc/multipart-entry/multipart-entry.php:15) in /home/heroes/public_html/wp-content/themes/sem-reloaded/inc/multipart-entry/multipart-entry.php on line 21

    Which says that PHP is seeing the definition of the function ob_multipart_entry() more than once during the same page fetch/script execution.

    Cause 1: Unlikely but possible!
    if you look on line 15 of the file it's reporting in the error message, you'll probably see something like
    PHP Code:
    function ob_multipart_entry() { some stuff }
    then on line 21 it could doing the same thing...
    PHP Code:
    function ob_multipart_entry() { some stuff }
    Cause 2: More likely
    Being a wordpress theme it might be getting looped - strange it says it's happening in the same script within 6 lines of each other...
    So to get around that you can wrap the function with
    PHP Code:
    if(!function_exists('ob_multipart_entry'))
    {
      function
    ob_multipart_entry()
      {

    //The bits in the middle

    }
    }
    Then of course there could be Cause 3...

    • Remove the theme and activate the default wordpress theme...
      So that download the theme run in local system.. so that you can search the function using dreamweaver.
