new FB fanpage - connection untrusted error

I just had a developer update my Facebook fanpage to the iFrame vs. FBML. For the first 24 hours, it worked fine. Now when I login as an Admin (in Firefox and IE) I get a 'connection untrusted' error. (Public FB users do not get this error. They see http. As an Admin I see https.) Hostgator said I can get a private SSL certificate for $50 per year plus $2 per month to solve this problem. I'm thinking this is a FB issue that wasn't anticipated by the FB developers. (But I am not a developer.)

Anybody have this problem? Can it be resolved without a private SSL cert?
Hostgator also said I could 'try to force the http load', but I'll still get a 'site partially secure' error.

Thanks!

  • i think you should post this on the developers forum @facebook
they will know a lot more about this or they can do research.. iframes are new in fanpages so it can be a bug

    • I posted a question on the Facebook.com/help area. I hope I'm not a year older before I hear back! The developer registration text scared me away...
