Burning CD for Windows & Mac Users

Hi All. I have a product I want to burn to CD. I have a Windows PC that I would use to create the CD. But I want customers with both Windows PCs and Macs to be able to view the information on the CD. (This will be data and photographs. No audio)

Is there a Windows-based software package I can use to accomplish this?

  • Have you tried doing straight copy of jpeg files to CD in Windows? Try to open the CD in Mac afterwards and see how it goes.

    • Just burn it normally in windows. Will open in Mac! No special software required.

  • fergsi thanks. Have you done this? I thought the Mac OS looked for a different file format. I know to avoid long file names and am sticking to 8+3 names.

    • There are many methods to successfully record and some of them are very efficient and effective. There are software called Transmac to that helps the user to read and write to Windows, just like setting disk utility used on Mac.

    On Windows, I would highly recommend InfraRecorder. You can create, DVDs, CDs, ISOs, the whole 9 yards. And it's free. Once you create your CD it will run in any platform, regardless of Mac, Windows, Linux, etc. Just make sure that your data don't require any Windows specific software that is not available on Mac. For jpg photographs, you shouldn't need to worry.
