Oh man, how I hate that!

Every time when I logged into my Wp-Admin area, "Upgrade now to WP 3.1" appeared on top.

This time I clicked on that damn link and what happens? My site is down! I cannot do anything anymore! I uploaded WP 2.9.2 folders wp admin and wp includes as well as the root files but the error is still there.

I dont know if it helps but this is my site:
www.softwaredotnet.com

Please help me if you can, I googled around there is not really any help out there. No, I dont have backuped my files, as I trusted that WP upgrade (trust no one!)

Wow! Sorry to begin on a critical note, the very *first* thing you need to do before considering *any* kind of upgrade, automated or otherwise, is a site-wide backup

Anyway, if your database is intact, you should still be able to get your website back, so don't worry too much.

As for the specific error that your site is having, it has been discussed here, here and here. In summary, the first thing to try is to:

in wp-settings.php at line 13, increase from 32M to 64M!
    and secondly, contact your web-host.

You may also want to put back the 3.1 files if your site behaves funny despite fixing the memory allocation issue. If you had a custom theme, make sure you have those files in the wp-content/themes folder, or your site would have lost its look.

    Good luck!
